Here is a link to great tips to pay attention to when traveling with your gear. Even though I don't travel much on planes until this year it is very important as a photographer to know how to properly take care of your own gear. I'm more of a person who likes traveling in cars. Then I can stop whenever and where ever I want to capture a shot. Though going from being on an airplane once and then 4 times within 2 months was an awesome experience I still plane on traveling by car unless it's out of the country because of the fact that I like taking photos as I go, on land.

helpful post! thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat info for those who haven't travelled much with photo gear. It was always hammered into me to never, ever check camera equipment- Its a carry-on no matter what. I recall a trip overseas in 12/2007 when the flight attendant noticed me stuffing my HUGE camera bag under the seat as I was willing to sacrifice a little foot room to keep my gear in view and she approached me and very kindly asked if she could put it in a bulkhead locker which she pointed out was clearly with in my field of view, so thats what I did.
ReplyDeleteI will also use the overhead of possible but I will make a point to have it out of there and on my seat so it is out of people's way.
Keep up your posts, you're doing great!
